There is a fundamental problem with this efficiency and the very nature of human beings. Sustainable living is all about community, after all what’s the point in just one house in a city being environmentally conscious. Communities offer the opportunity for us all to work together, to share resources, to really make big savings. If eco design isn’t going to excite and stimulate the masses, then it will only be taken up by a minority- a big problem if we really have big carbon reducing goals to aim for.
